We live in a small town which has "Parade Season". Parade Season runs from the first weekend in October through the middle of February. The first parade celebrates the founding of the town.
These are the current cotton queens. They will finish their reign in February and Parade Season will conclude with the new Cotton Queen and Princess. As a side note, EP will be a "Cotton Blossom". She is selling tickets for anyone nearby that would like to come. The Blossom that sells the most wins a special prize.Since it is election time, we had lots of candy and other stuff from various candidates.
After she went by us at the beginning of the parade route, we went to the end. She did much better when the candy was gone :)
How many kids in the back of a truck is too many?
Second Place went to the Juniors with their Monsters Inc. Float. Each door had the name of a team they had played (and won) this season. I thought it should have been first place, but oddly enough nobody asked me.
Third place went to the Sophmores for this float. It was supposed to be "Hercules". I thought it should have been 4th, I did not get Hercules out of it at all, and neither did anyone else I asked. We were leaning perhaps towards Beast, and no Beauty.
Seniors won First Place with this Pirates of the Carribbean float. I thought it should have been second, but again, nobody asked me.
Freshman worked very hard on this 4th place float, "Pooh on you". I thought it should have been third. The sentiment was very much from a freshman. I live with one, I know.
And the FFA float had the high school bear roasting a bird leg since we were playing the Falcons. Very Clever! The big BBQ was before the game. More on that later.
Last but not least, little Sassy Fried Molassy cheering again. They won first place in the other parade, so she thinks the prize was a second parade. Not quite, but whatever makes her happy. It was HOT and she got burnt, but lived.
