Hamburger Happiness!

Hamburger, LEAN hamburger was on sale for $1.97. We stocked up and bought about 23 pounds. We have been out for a couple months and it KILLS me to go to the store and pay $2.59 for a pound of 73% for dinner.

"What the heck would you do with all that?" you might be asking yourself. (Probably not if you have been to my house or watched me grocery shop.)
Most of it gets browned with onion, garlic, salt and pepper. This makes it ready to use straight from the freezer to help meal preparation go quicker. Plusalso the greasy mess is only made once to clean up off the stove and counter tops.

My handsome man worked on the hamburger while I worked on the chicken. About 3 pounds went into the skillet at a time.

We froze 3 packages of "naked burger" to use for patties meatballs or meatloaf. Usually I make the meatballs or meatloaf up and freeze it but with the chicken going on and homework we just froze it naked.

We ended up with 55 cups of browned ready to go hamburger. All nice and vacuumed sealed in 3 or 4 cup packages. "In the old days.." a 2 cup package was more than enough, but um, those days are long gone with teenage boys.
