One of those days......

Today I vaguely remember hearing the oldest child head downstairs at 530ish for school. The nyquil keeps me out pretty good. Even when the alarm went off at 630 I was still all bluuuuhhhhh, you know that feeling.

I got younger kids breakfast and was making lunches and trying to get them to haul their things upstairs before school. I even had the camera to take a picture of young daughter. She designed her outfit today, and it even sort of matched, but she did her own hair, which was definitely picture worthy. That and the look she was giving middle child because he wore his shirt that says "LITTLE SISTER FOR SALE! CHEAP!!!" He was definitely starting his day off normally...by annoying her.

Big Red Bus driver called, Big Red Bus had to go get the brakes fixed since the Big Red Bus was used by a woman to stop her suburban two weeks ago. No problem, I will drive the kids to school. I still had enough time for a quick shower since school starts at 745 and I had a meeting at 8.

As we are getting everything into the car, younger son comes in and says there is someone here from the home builder. I ask if he is 'here-at our house' or "here-near our house, on the street". He says "here, in our garage". It is the guy to fix the squeaky stair. Hmm...I thought that was next week, but whatever. He says he is early, it is not even 730 and he wasn't supposed to be here until 8, so take them to school and he will stop back by. I ran up the stairs and grabbed the scheduling paper, sure enough, 9 people to fix stuff today. UGH. I call on the way to school to tell them I will not make the meeting, but maybe I can phone conference it in. Around the corner to pick up the other Big Red Bus riders, and we are off.

The big topic of conversation on the short ride to school is the "safety patrol" at. They are older students who stand by the parent drop off/pick up area and open the car doors and help the younger students out. Apparently they have a habit of slamming the car doors, and some parents are tipping the safety patrol to NOT open the door. I see parents dropping off in the parking lot to avoid the safety patrol. I pull up, about 5 spaces back from safety patrol "safe zone" and 5 kids hop out. They are pretty funny to watch, they look like the circus clowns in the little car that just keep coming out. When you think they are done there is one more. The safety patrol starts hollering something about the "safe zone" and wait, but you can't hear them over the kids. Oh well. I will try to remember next time....Maybe :)

I drive around to drop off young daughter at the drop off closer to her building. With a hug and a kiss and a kiss and a kiss and a hug she is gone, wait, one more kiss, then she is gone.

As I drive back into the neighborhood, the tire light comes on. So far everytime it has come on, it means there is a nail in the tire. I pull into the driveway, let the squeaky stair guy in and check all the tires for nails. Can't find one. Squeaky Stair guy fixes stair and is out. Now I just need Carpet tacker downer guy to put the carpet back. The coordinator calls and lets me know someone else will be here 8-noon, and the rest noon-four. Lovely. Tonite is dance and I really need to get the tire fixed before the shop closes at 5, but I have to leave for dance at 415. She says to go get the tire fixed and leave a note.

I go to the tire guys, they can't find the nail, but add air to the tires and the light finally goes out. Amazing what a difference one psi can do. We hadn't been to visit the tire guys in 6 weeks, so really it was time to see them again.

I got home, conferencing in the meeting didn't work, I had people in and out all day. Everything went pretty smooth. The crack stickers for the outside showed before the painters, the doors got adjusted, the pantry shelve supports need to be ordered, the blind guy even had a second blind on the truck for the one that just had a problem. A/C is doing some research, plumbers were fresh out of flappers but will be back, tile guy had an extra tube of caulking for us and they all told me what to do for the next step of the unfinished things.

Baby X came to play while the regular Big Red Bus driver took my car to get the kids from school, I was still waiting for the drywallers, they never showed. Kids came home, kids left, I was getting young daughter ready for dance and oldest son reminded me he still needed 1.5 gallons of ice cream for scouts at 5. It is 4, I have to leave for dance. I ran to the store, grabbed the ice cream and checked myself out. Got home, young daughter had a sandwich for dinner and we had to get her dressed. She has two black leotards to choose from, why it took 5 minutes to decide which to wear is beyond me.

Left for dance, called the boys to tell them who was going where when and how. Evidently it all worked out because when I left dance at 7, I got to football to pick up middle child and friend and older child called to say he was home. I did manage to buy 10 boxes of cereal for $4.60 while she was in dance.

When we pulled in the driveway, best news! Next door neighbors are home from vacation! That means their very sad guinea pigs can go home where they belong! YIPPEE!

Tomorrow I am hoping for pictures. I haven't done the laundry of young daughter so that she will have to wear some of the cute new school clothes we bought her instead of her favorite things. Last weekend I figured out she wore the same pair of shorts 4 of 5 school days!

Middle child has a something/does a something/ or gets a something during the half time of the high school varsity football game tomorrow night. I hope to get a picture of that, whatever it is. I will go find the paper.

Oldest child is excited he gets chocolate cake and milk for breakfast tomorrow morning in negative one hour. Lucky him.

You make me tired! I hope the Blind Flappers get their tires fixed in time for dance class :o) As for the crack stickers - isn't that illegal?
