Food Storage Organization
When I moved, it was easier to pack the pantry by grabbing a can, and putting it in a box. After spending 45 minutes looking for a can of potato pearls, I decided I REALLY needed to go through ALL the boxes, and put matching cans into one box.
All of this is in my closet, and you know when you get to the place where "it has to look worse before it gets better?" I wasn't quite to that point when these were taken. Not only that, but they were fixing stuff on the house and replacing flooring in the bathroom at the same time. The fumes were a little strong in the closet!
Apparently in the hurry to pack, I packed a can of dry milk that was opened. Dry milk is the one item that makes the biggest mess when you are canning it, let alone when it spills during moving. I had no idea, until I started finding it all over. I had to wipe of each can with this damp towel. It was airborne from when I took it out (of course I packed it upside down too) and wipe it all. I put Moe in the closet to clean the air. I think I got it all out of the clothes...
See how neat this is? I even wrote in big black marker so I can find what I am looking for. I made a list of what i have, and next month I will try to order the odd number cans so I can pack these loose ones in a box with friends!
